At our February meeting, all thirteen (13!) of us agreed that we would start working on a “block of the month” project at our March meeting, and create four quilted blocks over the Spring months to assemble into a table runner, wall hanging, pillow, or whatever you choose! Our next meeting is Wednesday, the 16th of March, from 10 A.M. to noon, in Camden Grange and Community Center (7 Camden Road, Elk, WA 99009). You can check out our new Facebook page (Camden Quilting Club) for more details, and how much fabric, and which tools (cutting tools, machines, etc.) to bring to the March meeting. You can also contact club organizer Carol Wood at carolcwood79@gmail.com Let’s get quilting!

Last Wednesday a small group of hungry folks learned from master scone baker, Russ Ford. Not only were interesting secret baking tips learned, the samples were delicious. Everyone left full and happy!
CAMDEN GRANGE AND COMMUNITY CENTER invites you to join our new HAM radio operator’s club. New to the hobby, or veteran DX’ers, if you have an interest in radio communications, or want to build your own radios, antennas, and accessories, then this is the club for you. HAM operators use their radios to talk across town, around the world, and even into space, all without the internet or cell phones. HAM radio is fun, social, educational, and can be a critical lifeline during times of need. We are located at 7 Camden Road, Elk, WA 99009.
Please contact Jim McGinty at 509-292-0326 (please leave a message), or by e-mail at j.p.mcgintyelk2@gmail.com for more club information and meeting details. Our snow plow operator, Chad, tells us that the grange parking lot is a sheet of wet ice. Based on his recommendation, we will reschedule (for February?) both the QUILTING CLUB meeting, and the BRAIDED RAG RUG class. Major bummer, but better than falling!
Check back with our Event Calendar for new schedules for these events. On my way out of this months Grange Officer's meeting, I stopped in to our kitchen/dining area to see what the soap making class was doing. They were still setting up but was able to see the array of equipment and materials they were about to use to create handmade soaps. Check out the pictures! Keep checking our Events Calendar as I'm sure there will be another class in the future. The Camden Grange & Community Center website is up and running!! Feel free to pass around our web-address to all those who are interested in what we are doing.
www.camdengrange.org While you're at it, check out our Events Calendar. There are lots exciting events in the coming weeks/months. The Camden Grange Website is well underway by volunteer Geoff Carson. The goal is to provide a source for quick access to information on grange happenings, contacts, and best of all, classes and events, all present by our local community members and volunteers.
Stay tuned as the website is an ongoing process. NOTE - Because the site is constantly changing during construction, please do not rely on the information you see. When the construction banner at the top of the page has been removed, you may then rely on information shown. (unless I messed up, of course! :-) ) |
