The warmth of a wood stove fire, the sounds of holiday music, the aroma of a fantastic baked potato bar, homemade caramel corn, and the fragrance of pine boughs, along with folks chatting with vendors of all kinds, filled the 100 year old Great Hall Saturday at the Camden Grange & Community Center's first FALL VENDOR FAIR. The quality of the vendors was fantastic — with everything from jewelry, farm and garden products such as goat cheese, honey, jams & jellies, and crafts such as painted stones, handmade soaps, photography, and woodcrafts — filled the Grange's Great Hall. In the kitchen, just $4 got you a baked potato with more fix'ns than you could imagine. To the more than 100 patrons who attended, supporting our local farmers and artisans while enjoying the warm atmosphere of the event, Thank you!! You have definitely put this event on the future MUST DO list for all those in Elk, Camden and surrounding areas. A huge THANK YOU to Lauri Chamberlin and her crew of dedicated helpers who worked tirelessly to make this event a success!! We can't wait to see what you do next! 😉 Add the Camden Grange & Community Center website address to your "Favorites" and stay tuned for upcoming exciting events. www.camdengrange.org and follow us on FaceBook.

Our Artist in Residence, Carolyn Durham recently guided a group of both experienced and first time students in the finer points of fine art. Each student was provided with all the materials necessary for producing their own interpretation of Carolyn’s original warm and cozy Autumn painting: stretched canvas, table top easel, paints, brushes, and more. Importantly, Carolyn provided step by step directions, helpful hints, and encouragement to each student – you can see the gleam of success in the eyes of the students in their graduation photograph.
Carolyn’s next fine art acrylic painting class is scheduled for Saturday, 10 December, from noon to 4 P.M., and will cost $30 per student. You can register for this class HERE. |
